Energy continuity and capacity
Continuity of electricity supply requires reliable facilities, planned maintenance and the ability to respond to equipment deterioration and changing demand. Recovering units that are out of service, resolving operating constraints and modernising systems can be as relevant as developing new infrastructure.
KRONOS directs this area towards assessing those needs and structuring staged intervention programmes. The approach considers asset condition, availability of fuel and spare parts, auxiliary systems and connection requirements, together with the technical and financial resources each project demands.
With Venezuela as its first development market and an international outlook, we seek to articulate solutions suited to the conditions of each facility and to the objectives of its operators.
Industrial alliances and integrated execution
Generation projects require the coordination of complementary capabilities. The KRONOS model brings together plant operators, engineering firms, equipment manufacturers, specialised contractors and financial partners under a structure of responsibilities defined for each initiative.
Participants are selected for their experience in the relevant technology, execution capacity, available support and fit with the scope. This integration seeks continuity from initial assessment and procurement through assembly, commissioning and maintenance.
As part of this strategy, KRONOS seeks to explore collaboration opportunities with internationally scaled companies such as IMPSA, in fields compatible with their specialisation, and with other manufacturers and suppliers of generation solutions and industrial services.
Areas of intervention
Technical assessment and planning
Review of the condition of plants, generating units and auxiliary systems to identify constraints, maintenance needs and recovery opportunities. The assessment allows interventions to be prioritised and scopes, budgets and schedules to be defined.
Capacity recovery and rehabilitation
Structuring of programmes to recover unavailable or underperforming units through repair or replacement of components and coordination of specialised services. Recovery targets are set from the diagnosis of each facility.
Major maintenance and reliability
Planning of outages, coordination of inspections and maintenance of main and auxiliary equipment. The scope integrates specialised personnel, spare parts and execution sequences to reduce avoidable interruptions and support operational continuity.
Modernisation, automation and control
Assessment and integration of improvements in instrumentation, electrical protection, monitoring and control systems. Technology selection considers compatibility with existing equipment, available support and the operator's requirements.
Equipment supply and support
Coordination of specifications, supplier selection and procurement of equipment, components and spare parts. The process covers technical documentation, traceability, delivery logistics and the warranty and support conditions agreed with manufacturers.
Infrastructure and electromechanical assembly
Integration of civil works, facility upgrades, assembly and auxiliary systems required to recover or incorporate equipment. Coordination links engineering disciplines with the real conditions of the site.
Generation development and expansion
Assessment of new capacity initiatives or the expansion of existing facilities. The analysis covers demand, technology, fuel, infrastructure, connection and investment needs in order to define a viable solution and a development programme.
Commissioning and technical support
Coordination of testing, documentary verification and support for commissioning through specialists and manufacturers. The scope may include training, operating documentation and initial performance follow-up, according to each contract.
Financing and development in partnership
KRONOS considers linking the technical solution with a financial structure suited to each project. This includes estimating investment needs, organising disbursement stages and preparing information for the evaluation of partners and investors.
Depending on the characteristics of the opportunity, supply agreements, equipment financing and joint participation schemes with operators and strategic partners may be explored. Each alternative is assessed against the viability of the project, its contracts and its capacity to generate revenue.
The aim is to articulate capital and execution to support both the recovery of existing infrastructure and the development of new capacity.
